Midsummer Celebration Treatt

We are drawing closer to Suffolk Mind’s annual gala, Midsummer Celebration, taking place at Fynn Valley Terrace on Saturday 13 July.

This event wouldn’t have been possible without the help and support of some incredible businesses and individuals, one of these being our headline sponsor and long-time supporter of Suffolk Mind, Treatt PLC.

About Treatt

Founded in 1886, Treatt is a natural extracts and ingredients manufacturer to the global beverage, flavour, fragrance and consumer goods markets. Based in Bury St Edmunds with other locations in the USA and China, Treatt shares Suffolk Mind’s goal of making Suffolk the best place in the world for talking about and taking care of mental health, but also for working and living.

Treatt’s brand new Wellbeing Team

As part of an ongoing CSR strategy, Treatt has recently enlisted a Wellbeing Team across all its locations to help support staff with their mental health.

The Wellbeing Team – which includes both UK and US staff  –  have already made great strides in implementing activities and initiatives to support their colleagues:

  • Mental Health Walks – the Wellbeing Team recognised that Wednesday was the busiest day for many colleagues, and arranged a walk for all who want to join at 12pm on Wednesdays
  • Daily financial tips during Mental Health Awareness Week – recognising UK colleagues might be needing extra support due to cost of living, they emailed out financial tips every day during Mental Health Awareness Week, including apps to save money
  • Coffee Connections – an initiative all sites can get involved with either in person or over Teams/Zoom. This enables colleagues to connect to someone who might not interact with in their day-to-day work over a coffee
  • The Mental Health Toolkit training – the Global Wellbeing team undertook an Introduction to The Mental Health Toolkit session to better understand how to meet their needs through the Emotional Needs & Resources approach. They are now educating their colleagues and families about this approach, ensuring we all have a clearer understanding of mental health

The team regularly meets over Zoom to come up with new ideas about how they can support their colleagues across all three sites.

Treatt in the community

Treatt’s ethos is ‘Think Well, Live Well, Be Well’, which they adopt in all their operations and, as a large employer in Suffolk, Treatt strongly believes in giving back to communities and supporting charities across the county.

The company hold multiple events to raise money for local and national charities, with some colleagues even taking on endurance challenges to give back to their local community.

Treatt also encourages employees to take half a day off every year to volunteer at a local charity of their choice.

Julie Long, Fundraising Manager at Suffolk Mind said:

“The support Suffolk Mind has received from Treatt has been nothing short of amazing.

“From sponsoring our 2023 and 2024 galas to coming up with fundraising initiatives to raise money, we couldn’t be more grateful to have them on board as a supporter.”
